I have been capturing creative images since I received my first camera. From that day until now I have loved viewing and capturing images of the world and people around me through a lens. I started my career as a photographer in high school and over the past 40+ years have worked in news, sports, concert promotions, corporate work and portraiture. Along the way I have had the pleasure of meeting some very interesting people and see some fascinating places. Most importantly of all I have been able to create the memorable images that populate this site.
My Influences
My first inspiration in photography was the images in LIFE Magazine and I studied the work of Alfred Eisenstaedt. I learned about how to see my world from his work. Later in my career I was influenced by George Hurrells' lighting, posing by William Mortensen and composition from old master paintings. Along the way I have had the privilege of studying with Don Blair, Frank Cricchio, Dean Collins, Heinz Kugler and Laurence Blaker. I was trained in the portrait style used by the renowned Gittings Studio by my former father-in-law who worked in the famed mens studio in the old Rice Hotel in Houston. All of these experiences shaped my style but along the way I crafted my own style and pursued my own artistic vision.
Hi I am Ed Rizk
I came to the photography world later in my career. Most of my life my creativity has been directed toward the design, development and marketing of real estate. Over the years I have worked with many talented creative people and in time decided to create images for myself. My interest was originally directed towards creating architectural images of properties I or my family had been part of creating. Gradually my interests expanded into cityscapes and other still life compositions of the world around me.
